Erik Erazo: Olathe NEA’s First Racial & Social Justice Advocate of the Month
Erik Erazo, Migrant Director at Olathe North, is our very first Olathe NEA Racial & Social Justice Advocate of the Month. Erik was honored at the September 25th Olathe NEA Association Representative meeting. Selena Eckstrom, ELL teacher at Countryside, nominated Erik because he initiated the Hispanic Leadership Lowrider Bike Club. He also mentors Hispanic youth, collaborates with the Olathe Police Department, and attends many leadership trainings and conferences.
Erik received a specially made certificate, featuring the new Olathe NEA Racial & Social Justice cadre logo, designed by an ONW e-Communication student. Our association representatives had the opportunity to hear Erik speak about his own life story, as well as his contributions to the community.
